WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
Do you have any concerns? Here are some frequently asked questions:
WHAT ABOUT FOOD AND WATER?
The food in Costa Rica can be very similar as in the U.S. and Canada. So, you don’t have to worry about that. If your treatment requires soft foods, there are all kinds of options like mashed potatoes, beans and rice, soups, jell-o, etc. If you do not require a soft food diet, then we have anything you may like as well, from typical Costa Rican dishes you may want to try like “gallo-pinto”, and “casados”, “chifrijo” and “tamales”; to the possibly more familiar hamburgers, pizza and pasta, sushi, Chinese or Indian style foods as well as all kinds of organic options, you name it!
What about beverages? You are covered there as well. Tap water is perfectly safe to drink, however, bottled beverages are also readily available if you prefer.
WHAT IS THE BEST OPTION FOR TRANSPORTATION?
On the day you arrive there will be a driver waiting for you at the airport to bring you to your hotel or to our office.
Hotels also usually have transportation options that may be included or are available for hire. We can also recommend reliable transportation providers that can take you to the places that interest you. Using Uber can also be an option.
CURRENCY AND PAYMENT OPTIONS?
There are ATMs all around town, including some right across the street from our offices. Also, most businesses take U.S. dollars and all major credit cards.
At our office payments can be made in cash through U.S. dollars or national colones. You can also use your credit card or make wire transfers (this option needs to be done before the procedure starts).
WHAT DO I NEED TO GET TO COSTA RICA?
If you are coming from the U.S or Canada or most countries for that matter, you just need to buy your ticket. That’s pretty much it, there are mainly no visa requirements.
